HOW ABSORPTION CHILLER WORKS

Absorption chiller contains four main components which are generator, absorber, evaporator and condenser. Any of these components fail to function will cause the chiller to breakdown. In this absorbtion chiller there are two types of liquid which are pure water and salt(bromide solution). There are 2 types of pump in this chiller too which are refrigerant pump and solution pump. These two pumps will circulate the liquid in the system.

Generator function
This generator is to seperate the bromide and the water. This generator contains 2 big major components which are the steam tube and the condenser tube. Steam tube function as a boiler for the bromide solution so that the water in the bromide solution will be vaporised. The water vapor will be be condensed by the condenser and the water will be accumulated in a tray at the condenser.

Evaporator function
The water that accumulated by the condenser will then being push by gravity force to the nozzle to spray over the evaporator tubes. When this water spray on the tubes, it will evaporate due to the negative pressure(6mmHg) in the chilller. This vapor will then be absorbed by the absorber.

Absorber function
This absorber will capture the vapor from the evaporator in order to restore the percentage water in the solution to prevent crystalization from happening.
